Prof. Weinan Gao

Northeastern University, China

He is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the State Key Laboratory of Synthetical Automation for Process Industries, Northeastern University, a Senior Member of IEEE, a recipient of the National Young Talents Program, a High-Level Talent in Shenyang, and a Visiting Professor at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories in Boston, USA. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Northeastern University in 2011 and 2013 respectively, and his Doctoral degree from New York University, USA in 2017. He once served as an Assistant Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Florida Institute of Technology, USA (the institute, together with California Institute of Technology, USA, etc., was rated as one of the "World's Top 20 Small Universities" by Times Higher Education), and an Assistant Professor at Georgia Southern University, USA.


He has long been engaged in basic theoretical research on artificial intelligence, adaptive dynamic programming, optimal control, and output regulation, and has conducted basic applied research focusing on specific objects such as intelligent connected vehicles, unmanned driving, and power systems. In the above-mentioned fields, he has published more than 40 papers in international journals such as IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and Automatica, including 3 ESI highly cited papers.

Prof. Farhad Shahnia

Murdoch University, Australia

Farhad Shahnia received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, QLD, Australia, in 2012. He is currently an Associate Professor with Murdoch University, Perth, Australia. He has published over 100 articles in the application and control of power electronic converters in distribution systems and microgrids.
